Registering Mulefoot hogs or any other heritage breed presents a few unique challenges.
Some farms have great stock, but may not come from a fully tracked lineage of registered hogs, but may have good records, and or hogs that are a great overall example of the breed standard! (here)
We want to support registering and or certifying as many solid examples of the mulefoot to help boost the population and consistently work to improve the quality of the stock available. Registering and as appropriate certifying hogs is a great way to work toward the goal as it helps others track traits and make informed decisions, create appropriate genetic diversity, and more.
